SFI BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTIONS
STAFF NURSE / PRE- OPERATIVE JOB SUMMARY: Assesses and prepares patients for surgery safely and in a timely manner. Communicate findings with appropriate medical staff. Provide patients and family with discharge instructions. The Nurse assures continuity of care and patient confidentiality.
STAFF NURSE / OPERATING ROOM JOB SUMMARY: Assists in the provision of nursing care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in the Operating Room. Assists with surgical procedures in scrub and circulating duties and manages non-professional personnel in these areas. The Nurse assists in providing continuity of individual patient care.
STAFF NURSE / POST ANESTHESIA CARE UNIT JOB SUMMARY: Assists in the provision of nursing care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in the PACU and to return the patient to his normal function as quickly, safely, comfortably as possible. The Nurse assists in providing continuity of individual patient care.

OPERATING ROOM TECHNOLOGIST JOB SUMMARY: The OR Tech will act as a scrub technician and/or second assistant on all types of surgical cases. OR Tech should knowledge of operating room procedures and aseptic technique. They should have the ability to identify and select appropriate instruments and equipment necessary for various surgical procedures. Assist with the care of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in the Operating Room and assists in providing continuity of individual patient care.
CENTRAL PROCESSING TECHNICIAN JOB SUMMARY: To perform the duties and responsibilities of a Central Supply Technician. Central Processing Tech must be knowledgeable in the use and care of all instruments and equipment in the Operating Room. They must be knowledgeable in sterilization techniques and operation of sterilizers.
